PROJECT DETAILS

The Arcanum Chronicles [ aka: TAC] is an open ended ongoing project, loosely based on and inspired by the official parody "Final Haikyuu!! Quest" based on Furudate Haruichi's sports manga Haikyuu!!.TAC is an original story currently in development with plans to publish the first volume instalment on AO3 (archive of our own) some time in 2023. (pending no further delays)Artworks and "soundtrack" playlists (posted on spotify) will also be created to accompany the written story. Additional content as such will include: world lore, key locations and characters details.

TAC is set in a high fantasy universe with themes of corruption and multi-layered magic systems.The main storyline focuses on Grand King, Oikawa Tooru and the Essence Arcmaster, Kuroo Tetsurou, their rise to power, developing relationship, self discovery, and the consequences of their actions.

STORY INDEX

The Arcanum Chronicles is a record of great battles, historical events, turning of the ages, and the daily life of people in the land of Chyitama from the Era of the Arcane. Each volume tells only a fraction of a grander story, however for publishing convenience, it has been arranged in accordance with major events or journals written by notable people of the time.Although this history cannot fully be perfectly retained and told by the limitations of parchment, it is hoped that with this collection, this monumental history will not be forgotten.

Volume 1: Rise of the Demon Lords

In the year 1246, Seijou of Moriardia was ruled by The Grand King Oikawa Tooru. The Grand King was well loved and respected by his subjects, as he had always led them to victory in battle with the aid of his army general and Seijou's paladin, Iwaizumi Hajime.In the wake of new royal leadership, the tensions rose between Seijou and its long standing rival, Shiratorizawa. In his desperation to defeat his enemy The Swan King Ushijima, King Oikawa turned to alternative sources of power.
His research into the mythical arcanum resulted in stronger forces of magic and his very being to be transformed. No longer human, Oikawa was henceforth known as the Demon Lord of Blue Castle. Iwaizumi, having had run out of patience and horrified by Oikawa’s actions, left the Grand King’s court, vowing to find a way to undo the damage that befell his friends soul, or defeat him should he become fully and irreversibly corrupt.Focused on the fued with Shiratorizawa, un unbeknownst to him, The Grand King had gartered the attention of another demon who seeks to accomplish more than winning an never ending war.

Tucked away on the shelves with other myths and legends of the history of Chyitama, lies a old worn journal that once belonged to the White Arcaster of Nekoma.The contents of this journal includes the scattered notes and a personal records of his years.

Arcanum Chronicles LORE

WORLD OVERVIEW

The world of Chyitama is a fantastical legend where people, beasts, and nature are deeply intertwined with a mystical force called the Arcane. Said to birth reality and existence itself, the arcane exists both in, and of all things that make up the world and its realms.
Once ruled by the original wielders of this power, great beings utilized and conducted the arcane in accordance to their vision, where they carried out their conflict against each other and created many wonders, known as the Era of the Ancients. After the exodus of the ancients, the arcane in all its many forms became what is known as the five arcane majors and their subdivided arcane minors. These majors, their laws and principles became the pillars of culture, spiritual belief, academics, technology and warfare for the civilizations and tribes that would follow, and influenced by such in every age and era afterwards.Not limited to one single plane, the world of Chiytama is composed of six realms, with their own distinct features and behaviors while being unified by the thread of arcane that ties them together. Inside these realms are a variety of races and numerous creatures that have each adapted in their own way to the influence of arcane and the wake of the ancients exodus.

Oikawa Tooru

The latest king to rule the throne of Seijou of Moriardia, Oikawa inherets an age long war against the northern kingdom of Shiratorizawa.On the brink of loosing everything, Oikawa delves into the darker side of his arcanum in order to win the war. When the chaotic forces transform him into a demon, Oikawa welcomely accepts his new identity.

Kuroo Tetsurou

An esteemed academic, arcaster and commander of Nekoma's armies, Kuroo Tetsurou left home to travel the world and learn about the Ancients and the origins of the Mythical Arcanum.Many years later, hearing rumors of the Demon Lord, Grand King Oikawa Tooru, Kuroo now seeks to earn a place within the highest court of Seijou.

Iwaizumi Hajime

Trained and raised to be Seijou’s most powerful paladin in history, Iwaizumi weilds formidable combat arcane power which has led to many victories against Shiratorizawa.Once King Oikawa’s closest friend and confidant, Iwaizumi voluntarily exiled himself from Seijou after failing to dissuade the king from using chaotic magic.

Akaashi Keiji

The Huestian (sub-cheif) of the Fukurodani druid clan, Akaashi Keiji is the Druid Prince's right hand man and trusted advisor who has been tasked with rebuilding the lost relationship between the Fukurodani Forest and the Woods of Moriardia.As the Moriardia duids have long since died out, Akaashi is now forced to make dealings with King Oikawa of Seijou, who's kingdom were once protectors of their sister clan.

Ushijima Wakatoshi

The current King of Shiratorizawa, Ushijima rules the largest and strongest kingdom of the northern continent of Chyitama.Keeping his promise to his father, Ushijima strives to lead his people on the path to ultimate victory against Seijou and take over the contested lands of the west.
